Beat the summer heat with cool, swishy, silky alternative clothing

There’s nothing quite as lovely as wearing cool, swishy silky fabric on a steamy hot summer’s day. No wonder our collection of silk-viscose mix skirts and dresses is so popular at this time of year. So let’s take a look at what our customers love best about these beautiful alternative fashions.

A stunning blend of real silk and viscose

Silk comes from silkworm chrysalis cases. It has been used for thousands of years to create luxurious fabric fit for royalty. Viscose, also called Rayon, is made from cellulose-rich wood pulp, and has been used since the 1800s to make clothing and upholstery fabrics. Both fabrics have a really soft feel. They’re both light and airy, and when combined into one material the result is deliciously fresh and cool to the skin. It’s a popular way to enjoy a silk like fabric without the expense, an affordable blend that feels just as nice as 100% silk.

So what do we have in store for you?

We’ve chosen a subtly beautiful collection of dresses, skirts, trousers, jumpsuits and handkerchief hem fairy dresses, all in the same sumptuous 70% silk, 30% viscose fabric. Our navy extra long tiered silky skirt is a stunning wear with its four tiers and rich, subtle colour scheme, patterned to perfection. There’s also an extra-long version in four juicy shades. Like our hanky hem silky dresses it comes in four lush colour choices: tropical sunset, midsummer ochre, twilight blue and sunrise pink.

Our popular silky pixie dresses feature a shirred elastic bodice, slim straps and a toning decorative hem. And our Boho style long tiered silky dress is the ultimate in sophisticated hot weather wear, deliciously pretty in a pale, soft peach colour scheme.

The same wonderful patterned fabric, inspired by classic Paisley with a twist, comes into play for a whole range of gorgeous alternative summer clothes you’ll love. A bohemian style long dress with bell sleeves and contrasting hem and cuff detailing. A silky kimono-style top that you can also wear as a wrap or dressing gown. Plus Boho style flared silky trousers with dipped hems.

We have a fabulous silky wrap skirt with a beautiful tie at the side, a silky harem style long jumpsuit and last but not least, a pair of extra-wide silky palazzo trousers with neat pockets.

What to wear with these deliciously silky clothes?

To showcase the gorgeous fabric, you can wear the skirts and trousers with a black top, a white top, or a top in one of the colours from the fabric itself. If you like, you can wear a top under the dresses for a layered cooler weather look.

All of them are easy to dress up and wearable casually too, being versatile and fun. And whatever you choose you’ll fall truly, madly and deeply in love with the coolness of the material, the comfort, and the way it moves. We think our silky collection makes an awesome summer fashion buy. Which style inspires you the most?

PS. The material is made for washing by hand on its own, in cold water, not suitable for a washing machine even on a hand-wash cycle.
